For most of us the idea of living outside the comfort zone tends to make us pretty uncomfortable. In fact the idea of leaving our comfort zones makes us so uncomfortable, that many of us will live our entire lives without ever taking a real risk.
Here's some reasons why many of us will never leave our comfort zones:
1. We don't leave our comfort zones because of the fear of failure.
2.We don't leave our comfort zones because it takes more faith that we think we might have.
3. We don't leave our comfort zone because we like the control we think we have in them.
4. We're afraid that stepping out of the comfort zone will cost us something, like our time, our money, or even relationships.
5. We don't leave our comfort zones because were afraid to be criticized.
6. Mostly we don't leave our comfort zones because it's safe and comfortable in there.
Here's some reasons why I believe, as followers of Jesus Christ, we must leave our comfort zones:
1. All growth is outside the comfort zone. If we continue to do what we've always done, we'll never accomplish more than we've already accomplished.
2. Following God outside your own comfort zone, regardless of the cost, is where you'll find His greatest blessings.
3. Outside your comfort zone is where you'll find the greater you that you may never have known existed.
4. Outside your comfort zone is where God will begin using the greater you in ways you could never have imagined.
5. Because God could not have used amazing men and women like Moses, Joshua, Caleb, Ruth,Joseph, David, Mary, Paul, and Peter, had they not been willing to step out of their comfort zones.
6. And the last reason we as Christians should step out of our comfort zones, is because Jesus stepped out of His for us.
Scripture tells us we can take comfort in God when we do step out of our comfort zones.
Joshua 1:9 I command you__be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the lord your God is with you wherever you go.
When facing a tough decision that will take me out of my comfort zone I try to always ask myself this question; what am I more afraid of, not following God where he wants me to go, or something that might happen to me outside of my comfort zone?
Be honest and ask yourself this tough question leaders; have I slipped into a comfort zone?

Great post Juanito! I totally identify to this and especially #4 on the first part and all of the second part. We have to remember that our greatest calling is "obedience" no matter the cost. We serve such an incredible, great big God who loves us too much to allow us to stay in our comfort zones!

Hey John, seems like we're learning the more you live outside your comfort zone, the more comfortable you get doing it!!
